Photography is a universal matrix for interpreting the world. This web site contains information about what we believe to be the most comprehensive education to engage this matrix. The complexities of today's cultural relationships—amongst photography and the fine arts, communications, sciences and the humanities—require examination and analysis in order to produce original imagery that stems from the exploration of these relationships. It is this quest that this graduate program cultivates. We encourage those interested in photography—and its extensions into the digital realm, video and interactive media—to closely examine the content herein. Look at the pictures, read the course descriptions and follow the links to our faculty, alumni and the greater community of the image. In so doing, you will understand our diversity and our desire to explore the imaginative uses of the lens-based arts. Guided by the curiosity and concern for witness, observation and testament, we strive to make for a greater awareness and responsibility for these concerns. We are a committed and professional community that seeks to engage those who share our dedication.
