Student Discount
SVA students in the MFA and BFA photography departments (only!) receive a 50% discount on all DOC services. In addition, the SVA BFA & MFA thesis students receive a 75% discount on scanning only.
Printing
Epson 4800, 8-color UltraChrome inks
$8 per 8.5x11" sheet paper
$10 per 11x17", 13x19" sheet paper
$25 per linear foot for roll media (250 wt glossy, matte, or luster)
Roll paper width is either 16" or 17" wide depending on paper in stock.
Large Format Printing
Epson 10600, 6-color Archival inks
$26 per linear foot (singleweight paper)
$50 per linear foot (doubleweight paper)
Roll paper width is 44" (maximum printable area 43" wide)
Scanning
CreoScitex EverSmart Select flatbed scanner
Scans negatives, transparencies and flat art
$0.25 per MB scan
$5 per CDR if no storage media provided
$7 per DVD if no storage media provided
up to 11x17 inches
Payment
Payment is expected when an order is placed. An I.D. may be requested. Payment methods accepted:
1) Credit card
2) Certified check / money order (no personal checks!)
3) Cash (only exact change can be accepted)
4) Interdepartmental Orders Guidelines are available by request from the DOC
Legal
Work is performed on a first come, first served, best effort basis. Job credit refunds only. We cannot be responsible for items once they leave the Center. The DOC exists because of donations.
We ask that the following phrase be displayed prominently in any exhibition or public display:
"This exhibition made possible with equipment donated by EPSON, CreoScitex America & managed by the Digital Output Center at the School of VISUAL ARTS."
Turnaround
Approximately 2-3 business days (excluding school holidays).

Retouching
Images must be provided in final, print ready form. No touch-up work will be done by the DOC and the DOC is not responsible for dust/spots noticed only after an image has been enlarged.
Color Matching/Proofs
You should submit a proof to the DOC or request one test strip for color-matching. Please Note: This is a one time offer for you to correct your file based on the test. Only once the sample has been approved, and color corrections suggested, will the actual print be generated.
Printer & Paper Information
The EPSON Stylus Pro 10600
a 44" Wide format printer which prints 1440 x 720 dpi, using a six color Archival ink system.
The EPSON Stylus Photo 4800
prints a maximum resolution of 2880 x 1440 dpi with variable-sized ink droplet with AMC technology. Eight separate ink channels are used. Download the Epson Brochure.

The DOC only uses Epson manufactured media. Epson describes their media below as "archival."
