In partnership with the School of Visual Arts (SVA), the Next Generation Center of The Children's Aid Society offers Visualife, an introductory digital photography workshop for teens.
Taught by SVA graduate photography students, Visualife introduces participants to the art and language of digital photography through a series of weekly written assignments, presentations, peer review exercises, individual instruction and hands-on classroom activities.
Participants learn how to use a digital camera. They also learn about photography techniques and artistic vision.
Participants are encouraged to investigate their personal lives and experiences through different photographic formsÑportraiture, landscape and social documentary.
As a final project, participants design their own bound photo book.
Instructors/Organizers: Matt Baum (class of 2007) & Tom Holton (class of 2005).
