In-visible Years ?

26 minutes film that focuses on the lives of gay men in their 40s, 50s and 60s.

The film was inspired by my own desire to better understand the culture I live in and explore alternative approaches for the construction of my future as a gay man.
The film is neither fictional nor a traditional documentary, but rather a compellation of interviews presenting thoughts and personal stories that relate to the issues that mature gay men face in today’s society. The subjects in the film speak of identity, desire, prejudice, rejection, connection, loss and hope, and of navigating and negotiating the social, mental and physical changes they experience in life.
Along with universal issues that relate to aging, the film addresses concerns that are specific to aging gay men. Discussions of coming out in a different era or at an older age, health, AIDS, mortality, legacy, stereotypes, politics, romantic love and sexual relationships are all included in the piece.
