One day, a friend of mine, Patrik was cooking pasta
for our lunch and asked me to pass garlic and tomatoes to him. I opened
the refrigerator. A cut pink grapefruit was lined in the nude. He said,
"I forgot to eat it. Just throw it away." But I could not do
it. The texture was rough, and the color was stunning. For a moment, it
was the most important thing in the room.
What I try to do is to find something uncommon in common things, which
reflects my own intangible affections. Photographing my friend's apartment
and New York city, my work has become a heap of diminutive tidbits of
my feelings, which compelled me to take up photography and to see myself
in them and to hear the voices from my interior consciousness.
