This is it…For now.

Amanda, a bold 17 year old carrying a copy of Stone Butch Blues, joined me for lunch an hour before I left for the Oakland airport. I asked her name and how she was liking the book. She told me it was an amazing reminder that no matter how crazy the world is today, at least she didn’t fear abuse for looking like a boy. She’d read it several times. I told her about my project on queer identity and she was immediately eager to become a part of it. We went to a nearby place on the lawn, she threw her book on the ground, and revealed her tattoos triumphantly saying, “Here…these are so me”.
This is it… For Now., is a personal photographic journey, through a rapidly changing community and the lives of people who offer new visions of what it means to be young and queer today.
